As a Communications Skills Consultant, Leona Hamel is passionate about working with professionals—people who want to maximize their relationships and achieve their business goals through effective presentation skills! It's all about human connection! Being able to relate to others is key to get you where you want to go in your business. Be it through group or one-on-one coaching, you will discover the value of making the connection and providing first class delivery with confidence and style.™

A Distinguished Toastmaster, Leona has been a member of Toastmasters International since 1993, and has a 13-year success track record of mentoring professionals on presentation skills, content development, and leadership. She is the recipient of several awards for speaking and evaluation, including the Christopher Leadership Award. In May 2004, Leona placed first at the District 61 Toastmasters International Evaluation Contest—the district is comprised of the entire province of Quebec, southeastern Ontario, and upper New York State. She is especially proud of this achievement as it proves to her clients that she can provide them helpful critiques to assist them in reaching their goals. Leona is currently serving as Lieutenant Governor of Marketing for the district, overseeing seven divisions and a total of 173 clubs.

What else can you tell me about her?

Leona is a published author, writer, editor, and poet. She is the author of The ABC's of Tease & Please: A Romance Handbook under her pen name “LouLou L'Amour”, and is a contributing author and co-editor of the book A First Serving of Milk & Cookies for Success. Leona has also authored and edited numerous publications and articles: books, marketing brochures, newsletters, educational programs and guides, greeting cards, and Web sites.

In a former position as Manager, Client Relations of an international organization, Leona was responsible for overseeing 145 representatives, as well as 256 authorized training centers worldwide. Daily challenges included handling sensitive and timely issues from across the globe, getting past cultural differences, and sorting through masses of e-mail (don't we all know how difficult that can be!). She was also editor of the department’s monthly newsletter and was frequently consulted to edit marketing and training materials.

Leona's experience and commitment to quality and customer satisfaction will help you make a good first impression. And as we all know, first impressions ARE important because first impressions last!

What else has she done?

Leona has several years’ experience as a sales manager, having been awarded “Top Ten Personal Sales in Canada” for four consecutive months in a national direct sales company. She is also an experienced events manager, recently leading the Government of Workplace Charitable Campaign for the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada, and has successfully organized and chaired many successful committees, conferences, and events.

Are there any other things I should know about her?

Leona absolutely loves people! Her positive attitude is refreshing and revitalizing! A team-oriented individual, she is a strong believer in the T.E.A.M. credo: "Together Everyone Achieves More."

If you're looking for a professional individual with polish and personality to host your event, be sure to give Leona a call.
